Biobased material
This round tub is made of Intopack Bio50+ material. Due to the use of biobased content, this food container is not clear transparent but milky white transparent.
The material consists of at least 50% Biobased plastic, supplemented with polypropylene. The Biobased raw material is derived from ethanol that comes from residual waste from sugar cane production. The first, richest pressing of the sugar cane is used for consumption purposes. The less rich subsequent pressing is then used for, among other things, the production of biobased plastic. The extracted sugar is converted into Ethanol (alcohol), which is then made into Bio polyethylene.
Biobased plastics have many advantages such as a reduction in the use of fossil raw materials, a positive contribution to CO² reduction and a greatly increased circularity.
